Summer Activities

British Red Cross - Wellbeing activities

COVID-19 has had an impact on feelings of loneliness, with young people being one of the groups most impacted. These new wellbeing activities help learners (ages 7-18) to be kind to themselves and look after their own wellbeing in order to build resilience and coping mechanisms.

Schools out: summer support

As schools finish for the holidays we wanted to update you on our plans for the summer. We are taking a short break during the holidays, but you can still access our resources online or register for our summer of kindness calendar. We hope you have a restful summer.

  • Summer of kindness: we will be sharing activities in our new summer of kindness calendar. You can still register for a digital pack and new ideas will be emailed to you.
  • Back to school: we will be in touch in August with new resources to help children and young people be ready and cope with the return to school.
  • Kindness hub: we will also be updating our website with new resources and you can look back on all that we created during the COVID-19 crisis  (15/07/2020)

#SelfCareSummer: Primary Pack

Just as we look after our physical health, it's important to look after our mental health.

Self-care is all about what you can do to help yourself feel better or to keep yourself feeling good. It's a way that we can look after our own mental health and wellbeing. It can help your body and mind to relax, drift away, or be more energised.

There are lots of different ways you can try self-care: dancing, spending time with friends, playing sports, laughing, drawing, spending time with pets - anything that makes you feel good!

We have listed some activity suggestions in this booklet - give them a try and see what works for you.
