PSHE Network Meeting - Secondary Schools/Colleges/FE 12th November

The Secondary & College November PSHE Network Meeting is taking place virtually 15:45-17:00. Join us for a focused session from Gloucestershire Educational Psychology Service on:

Fostering Classroom Connection: Shifting from “Fixing” to Growing Friendships

Tired of playing referee? It’s time to change how we approach student dynamics.

Instead of constantly asking, "How do we fix friendship problems?" this exclusive, one-off short session invites you to look through a different lens: "How do we facilitate environments where healthy friendships can grow naturally?"

Led by Educational Psychologist Rebecca Jerome, this concise session moves away from rigid, "one-size-fits-all" approaches to social skills. Instead, you will gain expert, evidence-based psychological insights into the deeper architecture of youth connections, belonging, and community.

What You Will Gain:

  • Psychological Insights: Understand friendship from a true developmental and relational perspective.
  • The Adolescent Mindset: Navigate the unique changes, shifts, and evolutionary milestones of teenage friendships.
  • Risk vs. Resilience: Learn to identify key vulnerability factors in adolescent social circles and how to strengthen student resilience.
  • Proactive Strategies: Shift from reactive firefighting to proactively facilitating spaces where meaningful relationships thrive.

Equip yourself with specialist knowledge to cultivate a supportive, connected space where your students don't just learn together—they thrive together.

FREE event for all schools, colleges & education settings in Gloucestershire. Target Audience: Senior Leaders and PSHE Subject Leaders

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

MAAC is an independent charity and healthcare provider that is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

MAAC are committed to supporting young people’s educational development. Unfortunately a child is airlifted every other day, which is why they want to help youngsters better understand their vital lifesaving service and the importance of staying safe.

School age children are our future paramedics, pilots and fundraisers, and engaging them with this charity helps to safeguard the future of the service.

Please see below a list of what Midlands Air Ambulance Charity can offer your school:

• We can offer students an assembly with presentation and talk about the charity, which would be suitable for their age group

• A visit to the school with the helipod (a decommissioned helicopter pod that children can sit in and experience) more suitable for younger children up to around 10 years old

• CPR training – we can teach up to 20 children at a time, and each session lasts around 45 mins (years 5/6 onwards)

• Bleed control training – can be done alongside CPR training
