Our Peer Mentoring programme for staff provides training, resources and additional support to assist school staff with implementing a sustainable programme based on the identified needs of their setting. The programme will enhance early intervention and prevention of low-level mental health, safeguarding and well-being issues among young people. 

We have produced 5 core modules that will support schools, colleges, and community organisations in designing and implementing a sustainable Peer Mentoring programme that works for their setting. The programme will be co-developed by young people to help and assist other young people.

• Understand what mental well-being means and the issues that affect young people’s wellbeing
• Explore what needs to be included in a Peer Mentoring programme
• Identify the roles and responsibilities of staff and Peer Mentors

• School Lead Handbook - This handbook covers all key elements of a Peer Mentoring programme - from setting up the programme to the monitoring and evaluation
• Peer Mentors Training Programme - This training will provide staff with a framework of activities to use with their peer mentors to make sure they are fully prepared for the role
• Peer Mentors Poster- This poster will help schools promote their programme
• Peer Mentors Handbook- Pupils will be supported to record and reflect on their learning from taking part in the peer mentoring training

Mental Health e-learning ‘Train the Trainer’ Course

This has been designed in conjunction with CYPS and is an incredibly accessible tool.

Course Aims

To help all primary and secondary school staff to understand the more common mental health problems children and young people may face.

To recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems

To guide a child or young person towards the right support

To help children and young people cope and manage their lives.

This course is for:

All primary and secondary school staff wishing to develop their knowledge and skills around Mental Health. It is intended that after receiving training, delegates will then ask questions on how to then deliver the package themselves. All participants will need a laptop or tablet and internet access to complete the session, which lasts 90 minutes.

  creating a supportive environment.

The presentation is of course free of charge and can be presented at any time of the schools choosing, preferably whenever will encourage the best turnout of parents.
