Are you just starting out?
First stage? You’ll need to know what it is, why it is so important and how it can be developed into a powerful tool for improving the mental wellbeing of your pupils, teachers and other stakeholders. Our GHLL lead teachers can help with this set up. Please refer to Section 1 of our GHLL resource ‘5 Ways’ to get your whole school intervention started.

Have you already introduced the concept through staff training and want to introduce it through your PSHE provision to the pupils?
You are now ready to introduce the 5 ways to wellbeing to each class, parents and Governors. Please refer to Section 2 of this GHLL ‘5 Ways’ resource.
Are you now ready to introduce a bank of activities to bring the 5 Ways to Wellbeing to life?
If you have introduced the 5 Ways to everyone in school, and you are now ready to create, or introduce, activities linked to a target area, or all areas, then Section 3 of this resource has been designed to do just this.
Have you got activities in place and are ready to take the 5 Ways to another level?
Why not use an audit to gauge its impact or use a planning tool to take it across the curriculum. Section 4 of this resource will help you to take this intervention whole school! A good review tool supports sustainability and improvement of impact year on year.
Are you ready to celebrate your impact?
Once you have evidence of the impact your 5 Ways to Wellbeing intervention is having across the school team, now it’s time to share it. You can use it as an intervention to achieve your Healthy Schools or Mental Health Champions Status. We are also looking to award, as a GHLL team, recognition of significant impact in the form of a GHLL 5 Ways Logo you can add to letter headings and school correspondence. This will be assessed during quality assurance group meetings for Healthy Schools or MHC status assessments.
