Sun Safe Schools accreditation

Skcin is a UK charity, solely dedicated to prevention and awareness of all skin cancers. We provide tailored educational solutions for at-risk and influential audiences, and one of the most critical interventions is within Primary schools. Embedding sun safety education early can evoke lasting behaviour change. In 2020, Skcin proudly secured the inclusion of sun safety in the national curriculum—a landmark achievement. Yet, many schools remain unaware of this vital development and unsure of how to implement it.
That’s why we offer our free, national Sun Safe Schools accreditation programme, which equips schools with everything they need to deliver this essential education—and so much more.
With skin cancer affecting 1 in 6 people and 90% of cases being preventable, early education is vital. This nationally recognised programme provides schools with everything they need to protect young skin and embed healthy habits for life.
