About Us

Young Minds Matter Gloucestershire

Please note only schools/colleges  within the Trailblazer project can access YMM currently

Young Minds Matter (YMM) is a safe and confidential mental health support service developed for children and young people up to 18 years of age in schools currently in the Trailblazer project across Gloucestershire.

The team can offer you support if you are struggling with things like anxiety, low mood, and poor sleep or similar. This can be either face to face in school or via a virtual online platform. To meet with someone from Young Minds Matter you can ask a teacher/member of staff in your school to make a referral for you.

YMMChat for Trailblazer schools and Colleges

If you attend a secondary school within the Trailblazer project and would prefer not to talk to someone at school you can refer yourself to the team using YMMChat. YMM professionals are available to chat on text message during the school day (between 9am until 4:30pm) Monday- Friday (except bank holidays). The team will aim to respond either the same day or the next working day.

Young people can contact us by text if they want to share something that is worrying them, to get some advice or to self-refer and get an appointment, without needing to ask a parent or a teacher if they would like to chat with one of the 1:1 practitioners to talk things through.

YMM Exam Stress Support

Young Minds Matter have produced a PowerPoint for educators and a booklet for students on the topic of exam stress. The free resources can be used to help young people to identify, reduce and manage stress leading up to and during exams.

Children's Mental Health Week - Your voice matters

The theme for Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Week 2024 is Your Voice Matters. The week runs from 5-11 February 2024 and is an opportunity to give a voice to all children and young people in the UK.
We always want to hear from you so that we can provide the services you need. Please take the time to tell us what you need to support your mental health, or talk about your own experiences.
