Reel Education

About

Reel Education is a  FREE whole school enrichment activity based on the national curriculum that aims to encourage children across the country to value Britain’s rivers, lakes and seas. It also aims to get children and their families to consider getting involved in the sport of Angling.

The project has two components. A classroom-based element consisting of pre-made lessons for KS1 and upper and lower KS2, these focus on Science, Art and Maths. All the  lessons, worksheets and videos are provided in advance to your school. The lessons have been developed by a team from the Oak Academy. They come in MS Office, PDF and video formats.

The second is a PE element where a qualified and DBS’d Angling Trust coach will come to your school and deliver games and activities themed around the sport of angling. The programme can be delivered to up to 150 students in a day, and run over two school days for larger schools.

The project has been delivered to over 2000 students across the UK since its launch in April 2022; it has received fantastic feedback. The project is completely free for your school, and the Angling Trust has secured funding for the next 3 years to deliver the programme across the country.
