e-Bug
About
E-Bug is an exciting, fun and free microbiology, hygiene and health education resource for children and young people from ages 3 – 18.
e-Bug is operated by Public Health England and provides resources for teachers and community groups including lesson plans and courses, interactive activities, handouts and worksheets.
Topics include an introduction to microbes, hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene, food hygiene, vaccinations and antibiotics. e-Bug also has an interactive website for students hosting complementary games, interactive quizzes, disease fact sheets and much more.
All the e-Bug materials are free to download at www.e-Bug.eu, and they are available in 23 different languages!

Early Years Teaching Resources
Early Years Resources (e-bug.eu)
Student ages 3-5 years are introduced to positive behaviours for hand washing, respiratory and oral hygiene.
Lesson plans are designed to complement the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Key Stage 1 Teaching Resources
Students ages 5-7 years are introduced to microbes and continue to learn about positive behaviours for handwashing, respiratory and oral hygiene.
Lesson plans are designed to complement the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1.
Key Stage 2 Teaching Resources
Students ages 7-11 years build on their learnings around microbes and hand, respiratory and oral hygiene.
They are also introduced to the concepts of useful and harmful microbes, food hygiene, animal and farm hygiene, vaccinations and antibiotics.
Lesson plans are designed to complement the National Curriculum for Key Stage 2.
Key Stage 3 Teaching Resources
Students ages 11-14 years build on their learnings around useful and harmfil microbes; hand, respiratory and food hygiene; vaccinations and antibiotics.
They are also introduced to the topic of sexually transmitted infections.
Lesson plans are designed to complement the National Curriculum for Kety Stage 3.
Key Stage 4 Teaching Resources
Student ages 14-16 years build on their learnings around useful and harmful microbes; hand, respiratory and food hygiene; sexually transmitted infections, vaccinations and antibiotics.
Lesson plans are designed to complement the National Curriculum for Key Stage 4.
FREE eBug training for EYFS, KS1 and KS2
This workshop is designed to be a fun, engaging and practical session with a focus on microbes, infection prevention, control and treatment.
